Chicken Potpies with Herbes de Provence
Today seemed like a good day to get my French on, and share my chicken pot pie recipe with you! Everyone needs a solid chicken potpie recipe in his or her arsenal and this is one such recipe. What makes it special and a little out of the ordinary, (and a little French) is the addition of Herebs de Provence in the Velouté.

Mmmm Better Cream of Mushroom Soup (Non-GMO and GF)
I first published this post back in March of 2013. I’ve since made this recipe 3 times (I make large batches and freeze it) in hopes of getting much better photos, or at least photos that make the soup look appetizing and no matter how I tried, the photos still didn’t do the soup justice. It’s not pretty soup. It’s prettier than the condensed cream of crud soups from the grocery store, but it doesn’t photograph well at all. So, I did what any decent blogger would do. I called a good friend in New Zealand who has oodles more photography experience than I do and bribed her to make this recipe and…

The Dirty Dozen & The Clean 15
This was one of the very first pages that I published on my blog back when it was called “KaceyCooks”. I wanted you guys to know about this page so I’m sharing it as a post. If you’re new to Real Food, you may be at that stage in your journey where you’re feeling a little dazed and confused. Fret not. As I’ve stated before making 1-2 changes and perfecting those before moving onto another 1-2 will make things a lot less stressful and you’ll be able to achieve all your Real Food goals. I started out about 7 years ago avoiding the low-fat, no-fat, reduced-fat craze, and then avoiding HFCS like the…

Paprika Chicken with Smashed Taters & Gravy
Hands down, this is probably one of my favorite meals from childhood. My grandmother made this for Sunday dinners back when we used to go over to my Grandparents house after church on Sundays. I truly miss those times. I’d almost forgotten that a LARGE bottle of ketchup was present at every Sunday dinner. I swear my grandfather would drink the stuff if allowed. One year everyone bought him a bottle of ketchup and he was thrilled! Yeah, I know. It’s kind of gross that we put ketchup on every meat. You’ll be happy to know that TSM (The Stud Muffin) broke me of that habit very early on in our relationship. I…

Hearty Potato Soup with Bacon
I have a long list of personal quirks. I like to put an odd number of ice cubes in my drink unless it’s a small glass, then 2 ice cubes will do. I sometimes zig-zag the part in my hair, and will do either 5, 7 or 9 zigs and zags. I prefer to keep the volume on my car radio set to even numbers, and although I like a good homemade French fry, I don’t love potatoes. Don’t tell my Irish grandmother. It’ll break her heart. She’s already a bit bummed that she doesn’t have one full red-headed grandchild or great grandchild among all 18 of us. My less than enthusiastic attitude…

GMO-Free Living
Hello Real Food Hippies! I am excited to share a new Page with you. Each time I add a page, article or resource to the blog, I aim to share it with you as a post. This way you know of its arrival/existence and you can also search for it if for some reason you’re unable to view it via my Menu Bar. A lot of work went into this article. Halfway through my original draft WordPress decided to shut off the auto save feature, and I hadn’t had a chance to save my progress into a Word document before the whole thing went bizerk and I lost everything I’d typed. I will…

Spaghetti Squash- (A Recipe Request from a reader)
I thought today would be a good day to resurrect one of my earlier recipes. Spaghetti squash wasn’t something that was served at our house much until about 18 months ago at which time I had several friends on weight loss plans. I was trying to rework some of my recipes to make them healthier for friends. I’m not a big fan of squash. That may make me unpopular, but it is what it is. I’m being honest. What changed my mind about squash was the spaghetti squash. Wow! It was tasty and fun to eat. I played around with sauces and now I can truthfully say I enjoy squash. But just the…

Macadamia & White Chocolate Cookies
There are only 3 reasons that I can think of why White Chocolate exists. The first reason is to be baked into a cookie. Any cookie. It doesn’t really matter; white chocolate tastes good in cookies. The second reason is as a coating for pretzels. I love white chocolate covered pretzels and prior to going all Food Hippie and striving to eliminate processed foods from my diet, I used to eat pretzels covered in white chocolate. Great. Now I want pretzels.
