It’s Time For a Real Food Link Love
I’ve been finding some really awesome blogs lately and I thought it was high time that I started sharing these great finds with all of you. If there is one thing we all need it’s more great recipes, health and wellness tips, humor, Real Food advice, Green-Living ideas, gardening how-to’s, and people to teach us how to ferment things. Wouldn’t you agree? My goal is that each Friday I will share with you links to blogs, recipes, articles that I found on the web that I really enjoyed in hopes that you guys enjoy this stuff, too. Who knows, you might find just what you’ve been looking for during one of the link…

Real Food Girl Presents: Old City Salts
Hello Food Hippies! I have a surprise for you today. Say hello to Karyl from Old City Salts. “Hi, Karyl!” I have a huge passion for salts because of my culinary background, but there is more to all those varieties of salts than just jazzing up a meal. I met Karyl & Stephanie via my Facebook page and we quickly bonded over salts, health issues and the Real Food movement and all it has done to help heal from long standing health issues. I am very excited that Stephanie and Karyl have agreed to do a guest post for me while I’m under the weather. I think you guys are going to learn…

It’s a Real Food Girl: Unmodified Giveaway!
This Giveaway is now closed. Thank you to all who participated! Keep an eye out for the next Real Food Girl giveaway! It’s the FIRST ever Real Food Girl: Unmodified Give-Away! I feel like there should be some parade music in the background. Don’t you? Scratch that. I Googled parade music, and didn’t like any of it. In February I relaunched my blog with a fancy new look and my own domain. I thought it was time to celebrate that and the amazing growth that’s occurred over on the Real Food Girl: Unmodified Facebook page! I say we “Do a little dance, make a little cake, and get down tonight, get down…

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things ♪ ♫ ♪
Today I thought I would talk about my favorite kitchen items. These are the items that I use weekly if not daily. They are tools that make prepping for a meal or dessert funner. Yes, I said funner, get over it. We artsy fartsy creative types like to make up words. Embrace it. Some of these serve no other purpose other than they are cute and colorful. Like me. (wink-wink) My two favorite stores to shop for kitchen items are hands down, Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table (pronounced sir la tahb.) It’s French for sexy man sitting at a table. Ha! You wish. That’s not what it means. It actually means On…

The Dirty Dozen & The Clean 15
This was one of the very first pages that I published on my blog back when it was called “KaceyCooks”. I wanted you guys to know about this page so I’m sharing it as a post. If you’re new to Real Food, you may be at that stage in your journey where you’re feeling a little dazed and confused. Fret not. As I’ve stated before making 1-2 changes and perfecting those before moving onto another 1-2 will make things a lot less stressful and you’ll be able to achieve all your Real Food goals. I started out about 7 years ago avoiding the low-fat, no-fat, reduced-fat craze, and then avoiding HFCS like the…

GMO-Free Living
Hello Real Food Hippies! I am excited to share a new Page with you. Each time I add a page, article or resource to the blog, I aim to share it with you as a post. This way you know of its arrival/existence and you can also search for it if for some reason you’re unable to view it via my Menu Bar. A lot of work went into this article. Halfway through my original draft WordPress decided to shut off the auto save feature, and I hadn’t had a chance to save my progress into a Word document before the whole thing went bizerk and I lost everything I’d typed. I will…

Faux-reo Cheesecake Bars
Happy Valentine’s Day fellow Food Hippies! I have a lovely treat for you guys. It’s two of my most favoritest food things in the whole wide world combined together. Cheese and cake. Ha! Kidding. Make that cheesecake and Oreos. “Whaaa? I thought you were REAL Food Girl??” Don’t worry, I am. And I did not use real Oreos in this recipe. Hence the name of the recipe: Faux-reo Cheesecake Bars. It rhymes with Oreo, but not with GMO soy, HFCS and other nasty ingredients. You guys should be VERY happy that the original recipe that I had planned to share with you today had major flaws that could not be fixed even though…
